Our Story · Since 2006

Penarth is the
one that endured.

Mint & Mustard began in 2006 on Whitchurch Road in Cardiff — the first of a family of restaurants that grew to include Taunton, Weston-super-Mare and Chepstow. Tastes and times change, and one by one those sites came and went.

Penarth is the one that stayed. From 33–34 Windsor Terrace we carry on doing what we always have: cooking proper Indian food rooted in Kerala, with real flavour and a warm welcome.

Signature cocktails at the Mint & Mustard bar

At the bar

India invented
the G&T.

Britain may be its spiritual home, but the gin & tonic was born around 1830, when the East India Company mixed bitter quinine with sugar, lime and a slug of gin. We've been pouring in that spirit ever since.
